+1 on the DCX 2496. I love mine.
For those wishing broader choices or for our Altec users in Canada, I've had many very good component purchases from http://www.partsconnexion.com/index.html. They carry that 22 uf film capacitor, an Axon True Cap in that value. The Axon caps are a Solen product and a bargain for the quality.
FWIW, I have been using a Behringer active crossover for a few years. I recently upgraded my active to the Behringer DX2496, a very versatile crossover. I haven't had the chance to put it into the chain, yet. When I do, I'll post up my impressions. The DX2496 can be had for under $300.

Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.
I spent a few hours yesterday looking at inductors.
I found these at Madisound, brings the inductor cost up to about 116.00 from the original proposed 18AWG from Parts Xpress (Jantzen) that was 73.00. Not a big increase in price and they have a lot lower resistance. It was interesting to see LowOhms recommendation to use 14AWG inductors when I logged on this morning. That's what I picked out from MadiSound.
Solen Perfect Lay Inductors from Madisound Speaker Components
2.75mH 14AWG $31.00 each
0.75mH 14AWG $16.10 each
0.33mH 14AWG $10.90 each
These are 1% tolerance parts so I think they will work fine. Anyone want to verify my assumption?
Thanks

FWIW, way back when big inductors were 'de rigueur', we bought [1000 ft?] spools of magnet winding wire for relatively cheap from the local industrial electrical supplier and de-wound them as required and the excess wire made for great [inter] connection wiring as either single strand or multiples twisted together.

Revised parts list with inductor part numbers
All part numbers are from Parts Express unless otherwise noted.
Revised 9-14-16
Capacitors: Solen or Jantzen (C4 is a Jantzen, no close value in a Solens)
C1 8mfd---8.2mfd PN: 027-564 $6.73 each
C2 16mfd---16mfd PN: 027-578 $9.29 each
C3 21mfd---11mfd PN: 027-571 $7.94 each Note: To get 21 mfd, use both the 10 and 11 mfd wired in parralell.
10mfd PN: 027-568 $7.50 each
C4 6mfd---6.2mfd PN: 027-558 $4.73
Inductors: L1 and L3 are Solen Perfect Lay 1% Purchase from Madisound Speaker
L1 0.3mH----0.33mH 14AWG $10.90 PN: PL.33
L3 0.77mH--0.75mH 14AWG $16.10 PN: PL.75 Note: 0.77mH is not a stock component.
L2 2.7mh Erse Iron Core inductor 16AWG $20.81 PN: 266-910
Resistors: R2,4,5,6 are non inductive resistors, Dayton Brand
R1 + R3 8ohm L-Pad----8ohm, 100 Watt PN: 260-262 $12.95 each (includes knob, hardware and plate)
R2 + R4 3.9 ohm, 10 Watt---4.0 ohm, 10 Watt PN: 004-4 $1.38 each (could not find 3.9 ohm)
R5 2ohm, 10 Watt------2.0 ohm, 10 Watt PN: 004-2 $1.38 each
R6 3ohm, 10 Watt------3.0 ohm, 10 Watt PN: 004-3 $1.38 each
Note: R1 is a 8 ohm L-Pad, R3 is a 35 ohm L-Pad. Having trouble finding the 35 ohm L-Pad. Any ideas?
On Edit: I remember reading that some people remove the L-Pads and replace them with 10Watt resistors. Does anyone know the value typically substituted for R3? I may be able to get away with a smaller value for R3
Ok, found 2 post indicating that R3 was subbed out for a 10Watt 10 ohm resistor.
Parts Express makes a 16 ohm 100Watt L-Pad, $12.95, PN: 260-261 that may work fine. It matches the other L-Pad as well.
